At Newington, we love to share the Good News of the Gospel with kids and help them grow in their faith, know God better, use the Bible more, and love others well.  We believe kids aren’t just the future of the church, but they are a vital part of the church here and now.  They are valued, loved, welcomed, and encouraged to serve.

Sundays:

Sunday School at 9 a.m.

  • Sonbeams class for kids ages 4 through 1st grade.
Taught by Jerry Young with Sharon Harris and Theresa McCann as assistants.
  • J.O.Y. Kids class for kids in grades 2 through 5.
Taught by Vickie and Dick Pruden.

Sunday Services at 10:30 a.m.

  • Nursery for infants through age 3.
  • KidzWorship for ages 4 through fifth grade. Children will be dismissed to KidzWorship following the music portion of our 10:30 a.m. service.  They will enjoy Bible teaching, worship, and other activities in our elementary classroom and can be picked up from the classroom after the service ends.

Wednesday Nights:

  • Deeper Kids is our midweek discipleship program for elementary-aged children (grades K-5). We meet on Wednesdays during the school year from 6:30 to 7:30 with some fun nights extending to 8 p.m.  Our weekly program includes missions, Bible memory and engagement, games, activities, snacks, crafts, and more as we dig deeper into God’s Word using Lifeway’s TeamKID curriculum.

Special Events:

  • Kids Sunday every fifth Sunday where children get to serve by greeting, taking up the offering, and more.
  • Egg Hunt each spring.
  • Vacation Bible School usually in June, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.
  • Trunk or Treat/Candy Caravan in October.
  • Family Nights throughout the year.

Volunteers for all of our children’s ministry programs have undergone background checks and child protection training.
